Stoepel residents will meet at the vacant lot on Stoepel @ Curtis at 10 AM to get assignments to clean-up around homes and vacant lots collect in bags and place in designated location. From Noon to 4 PM residents will cook out front, sit out front of our homes and meet and talk with our neighbors. Children can do chalk and art activities, rides scooters and bikes and foot race (NO BASKETBALL, NO CONTACT SPORTS). We will give awards to the best lawn (1st) and the best flora arrangement (2nd).

DFG Mentoring will host clean up community day, where 5 of our students will assist 2 staff members with cleaning the yards of senior citizens on Maxwell St. We will also be planting flowers in the front yard of the homes where seniors live. This event will take place at 12 noon and be completed by 4pm/Maxwell Block, between Mack & Sylvester. We would love to use this day to put smiles on the faces of those most affected by COVID19. Our events will take place on Neighborhoods Day.  We Plan to have a cleanup in areas between 7 mile & Nevada on Greeley St.  Both kids and adults will participate.  Activities for the kids who participate in the cleanup include grilling hotdogs and hamburgers (for adulas well), sidewalk and t-shirt decorating, and we want to start an annual tradition of planting beautiful tree bush or flowering perennials in the neighborhood.  We may have an afternoon story telling session with a small group.
